£25,776 - £32,464 for LSC Level 2 qualified caseworkers The Refugee and Migrant Justice is a dynamic, growing organisation who is looking for people who wish to grow with it. Asylum seekers arrive here in fear of their lives, yet face months of hardship whilst they prove their case. Only around a third succeed. As their legal adviser, you will make all the difference. We are a charity of around 250 people who are advocates for people seeking refuge in the UK - through casework, cutting edge litigation and wider campaigns. We helped some 8,000 new clients last year and have a first class reputation for quality. You will be accredited at Level 2 of the Law Society's Accreditation Scheme. As a Caseworker you will play a crucial role in our important work by providing quality legal assistance to asylum seekers often taking cases from beginning to end. The quality of your advice can have a significant impact on people’s lives, so you will work to the most demanding performance targets. Your work will involve giving advice to and representing asylum seekers both at pre-decision stage and first instance appeals before Immigration Judges.

For these positions you will either have, or be able to demonstrate the following:

  • experience of putting together comprehensive and compelling evidence
  • experience in managing a large client-based workload within tight deadlines
  • experience of conducting in-depth interviews
  • an ability to advocate on behalf of others
  • a professional and sensitive attitude

You will also need to be:

  • computer literate in MS Office and in the use of databases
  • eligible to work in the UK for at least three years
